Saanen has a new local shop “Sense of Delight”, a
new grocery store that sells luxury foods, opened its door. Reasonable priced
niche products such as beer of the canton of Jura can also be found.
The shop is located in the former BEKB building, a nice wooden chalet that fits perfectly in the village of Saanen. Jürg Kappeler and his wife Ursula are newcomers in the field of selling luxury products, but they both have professional experience. He was a former chef in Gstaad and she worked for events in the marketing and communications field.
The initial aim was to build an Internet home delivery service in Saanenland. But whilst looking for locations, the idea of presenting the products nicely became more important. This is why the products can now be purchased through the Internet as well as in the store in Saanen. The main business is to sell packaged caviar, first of all “Oona” caviar from the aquaculture of Tropenhaus Frutigen.
“We think that Tropenhaus has great products and is building an excellent reputation worldwide.” Amongst expensive caviar and champagne also reasonable priced teas, special chocolate and beer is on offer.
Sense of Delight is clearly not a common grocery store, but a place for special delights.
