Businessman Daniel Koetser and Rudolf Maag have taken over the Grand Hotel Bellevue from Thomas Straumann, effective on December 1 2012. It was agreed not to disclose any information about the purchase price.
Thomas Straumann is pleased that Rudolf Maag and his son-in-law Daniel Koetser have decided to buy the hotel. “I couldn’t imagine any better solution for the hotel and Gstaad. They have the needed experience and passion to continue with the history of the Grand Hotel”, says Straumann.
The new owners and their families have their roots in Saanenland and know the hotel. “I met my wife here, we feel at home in this region”, says Daniel Koetser. “We will lead the Grand Hotel Bellevue in the proven manner. The General Manager Philip Erne will continue managing it”, says the new owner.
“Guests should feel at home”, says Koetser. “It is too early to talk about changes, but there is some optimizing potentials. First we have to talk with the management.” For now, it will remain a two season’s hotel. “We would like to open the hotel during the whole year, but the figures have to add up.”
